In 1890, in a small village of Maurienne in Savoy, Joseph Opinel invented the pocket knife which today bears his name. The Opinel company is still managed by the descendants of Joseph Opinel and manufactured in the heart of the French Alps, in Chambéry, whose quality has made the reputation of the brand for nearly 130 years. The Opinel collection is made up of pocket knives and tools for DIY, sports, outdoor activities, gardening as well as kitchen and table knives.
